Another HUGE thanks to the Haggin Museum for hosting my talk, How To Write a Novel in an Hour! It was a wonderful turnout full of soon-to-be-authors , can’t wait for the next one!

Check out the upcoming Vintage Faire at North Market in Modesto! There’s going to be a bunch of local, talented artisans present, and I’ll bet you that they just might be willing to exchange their beautiful arts and crafts for your legal tender. I’ll also be present with a collection of novels (each one looking for their forever home), so swing by and pick one or thee up. They’re so adorable!!!

On Saturday, January 25th, I’ll be in the Haggin Museum at 2 o’clock giving my world “famous” one-hour presentation on how to write a novel. I’ll be covering everything from KM Weiland to Dwight Swain with a focus on how simple techniques compose macro-structure in modern writing. It should be instructive and fun, but if it’s boring then at least we’ll be in The Haggin which is a gorgeous place be no matter what mood you’re in.
I’m very pleased and proud to announce that the gift shop at the Haggin will be carrying my Old Debts! It’s the dream of every (most) authors to see their work being sold in a brick and mortar shop, and the amazing team at The Haggin has made mine possible! A HUGE thanks to everyone there! And if you have an afternoon open, you should definitely check them out. Along with my novel they have a ton of amazing artwork.

For one night only, tonight at The Write Place I’ll be signing books and reading from them. Well, not all of them. I’ve chosen three chapters from Old Debts that I find particularly important and we’ll take a deeper dive into each, but I’ll also be sharing chapter one of the sequel, Petty, Greedy, and Evil! So even though I know it’s last minute why don’t you stop by at 6PM, there will be wine…

Would you like to be a character in the next mystery that Jake Carter and Nafissa Rayan solve? Or maybe you’d like your business/company featured instead? Either way, if anyone who joins my mailing list for the next month will automatically be entered in a drawing that will decide the winner! Here’s the link in case you missed it: http://eepurl.com/iLDZRs
Next week I’ll be releasing info about an upcoming contest. Entry is absolutely free and the winner will have the choice of being a featured character in one of Jake Carter and Nafissa Rayan’s investigations OR… your business can be the vital part of the story. Stay tuned to find out the details, or sign up/subscribe so you won’t miss a thing!
I’d like to give Lodinews.com a big thanks for their kind coverage and even kinder words about Old Debts! It’s great to have the support of local papers and really means the world to me. Check out the article and then the book, only on Amazon!

I can finally say after years of writing (thank you Covid for the year and a half delay) that Old Debts is finally out in ebook and paperback format. It’s available at Amazon and follows PI Jake Carter, and his partner Professor Nafissa Rayan, as they hunt a ruthless serial killer through the streets of Stockton, with 5% of all proceeds going to fight housing and food insecurity in the San Joaquin Valley.
It’s been a long journey, but be prepared… Old Debts is coming in March! Set in Stockton, it follows Jake Carter and his partner, Dr. Nafissa Rayan, as they track a serial killer who’s targeting the city’s homeless.
