Holy Smokes, a New Scam Has Been Detected!

Wow. There’s not a single author inbox in Christendom that hasn’t been flooded with scam-spam over the past few years. I’ve had it worse than everyone else, sadly, because I not only get everything for Matt Abraham, but also Matt Abrahams, an author of thinking fast and slow (If the amount of Spanish spam I get for him is any indication, Latin American phisherman LOVE his work!). The thing is, it’s super easy to ferret this stuff out, namely because the email you get is usually incredibly long and effusive with praise that only an AI could write. You can also tell if you study the email addresses because, as it turned out to my chagrin, Stephen King is not only unfamiliar with my work, but he can’t be contacted at StevenKing.author@gmail.com. Lesson learned.

But sweet mother of God, the Everbridge Inclusive Academy has not only written a new page in scammer history, but has almost set a new bar for grossness. I got an email asking about the audible version of my book, and after a quick glance at what I’ll call their “website” realized it didn’t exist (their phone number is in Canada where they have no campuses. Actually, they have no campuses anywhere, but claim a few). Anyhoo, I think manipulating people to give to the visually impaired is morally disgusting, and I wanted to alert my fellow authors, and maybe help out. I figure if anyone else gets approached by them, they can google the name and waste less time than I did coming to a very obvious conclusion.

In summation, fuck you, EIA!!!!
